A honeybee colony can hold tens of thousands of bees, and each one has a job. Young bees clean the hive and feed the larvae. Older bees build wax comb, guard the entrance, and finally fly out to gather nectar and pollen. Foragers share the location of good flowers with a special dance. Together, the colony works like a single living system, and its pollination helps grow many of the fruits and vegetables we eat.
